Project Description

Sacré-Davey took on the responsibility of scaling up, designing, and optimizing a supercritical Hydrothermal Liquefaction (HTL) technology. This encompassed the transition from a pilot plant to a commercial demonstration scale. A comprehensive process model was formulated, incorporating known reaction kinetics and data from pilot plant tests. The scale-up process, guided by the process model, involved all pretreatment unit operations, the core technology, and post-production refining and treatment.

Project Scope

The project's scope covered the entire spectrum of engineering disciplines, as Sacré-Davey executed the scale-up, design, and process optimization of the supercritical HTL technology. The transition spanned from a pilot plant to a commercial demonstration scale, involving all aspects of the process, including pretreatment unit operations, core technology, and refining and treatment post-production.
