Chris Sacré: Chief Executive Officer

Chris Sacré has been with Sacré-Davey for over thirty years, and has served as president and CEO since 1996. He has experience in leading project and technology development teams, and has developed skills in stakeholder communication and effective leadership. Throughout his career, Chris has been involved with some great companies and teams, including IWHUP, HTEC, and S2G Biochemicals.

Kirk Washington: COO

Kirk Washington has over 30 years of international business management and technical development experience in the private equity, engineering, and technology industries. Kirk is responsible for corporate administration, finance, operations management, and ongoing corporate development, including corporate partnerships and other long-term strategic objectives.

 

Ulf Tryggvesson P. Eng.: President

Ulf is a Professional Engineer registered in British Columbia and Alberta, with a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Thermal Energy) from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. His career has taken him across Europe and South America before settling in Canada more than 25 years ago. Over the course of his career, he has contributed to projects on every continent except Africa.

Beginning his career as an energy process engineer, Ulf progressed into project management and executive leadership roles, most recently serving as Technical Director for Wood’s Bio-Products division in Vancouver. His extensive experience in the pulp and paper industry has provided opportunities to lead bioenergy and biofuels projects worldwide. In recent years, he has also played a key role in carbon capture and LNG projects, working with both project developers and technology suppliers.

Ulf has developed a strong passion for the strategic side of the industry, with a particular focus on business development and client relationships. He continues to build on this expertise in his role as President of Sacré-Davey. 

 

Kent Smith, P. Eng.: Director, Industrial

Kent Smith is a seasoned engineering leader with more than 30 years of experience across marine terminals, biorefining, and industrial consulting. As Director of Industrial and Principal at Sacré-Davey in North Vancouver, he leads business development and client strategy for sectors including Ports & Marine, Food & Beverage, Forestry, and Chemicals. In this role, he oversees project delivery from proposal through execution, fosters long-term client relationships, and is accountable for the financial performance and growth of the Industrial business unit.

Prior to joining Sacré-Davey, Kent spent 16 years with Pacific Coast Terminals, where he managed engineering and maintenance operations and led capital projects ranging from $1 million to $100 million. During this time, he championed automation initiatives and worked closely with port authorities and government stakeholders on operational compliance and project approvals.

Kent is a registered Professional Engineer in British Columbia and holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan. He has also completed executive education programs at UBC Sauder School of Business and Simon Fraser University’s Segal Graduate School of Business.

Jake Alexander: VP Mining & Minerals

Jake Alexander (MBA) has over 35 years of experience in the mining technology space. He has been the Vice President of Mining and Minerals at Sacré-Davey since 2018. Jake’s expertise is in front-end studies, EPCM and high pressure grinding rolls. At Sacré-Davey, Jake provides effective and concise leadership, and has worked to make mining one of Sacré-Davey’s largest sectors.

Rennel Barrie: VP Energy

Rennel Barrie has over 20 years of experience working in the oil and gas industry, and has been Sacré-Davey’s Vice President of Energy since 2022. Rennel’s expertise lies in industrial project development, project management, and leadership that breeds success and satisfaction across the board. At Sacré-Davey, Rennel has proven himself with his hands-on approach to leadership and direct communication.

Al Humber, P. Eng.: Director, Business Development

Al Humber (M.Sc. Eng, P.Eng) has 40 years of experience as an engineer and has been with Sacré-Davey since 2013. As the Director of Business Development, his expertise lies in relationship management, business strategy, and technical problem solving. While at Sacré-Davey, Al has employed these skills by developing Sales metrics and processes that increase revenue, and has researched, planned, and deployed new marketing strategies. Al also serves on the board for the Leading Industrial Conference and is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the BC Sustainable Energy Association.
