The client wished to re-purpose a storage tank from ethanol service to mono-ethylene glycol (MEG) service. The project required relocating the tank and installing new railcar unloading and ship loading systems and associated fall protection systems.

SDE provided detail design for the tank relocation including foundation design, new piping and piping supports in the containment area, electrical and controls, and fire protection.   Scope for detail design of the railcar unloading system included modification of the platform to facilitate the new unloading arms, new piping and supports, new gangways and associated fall protection.  For the ship loading system, SDE provided detail design for new pump and piping, pipe support modifications, extension of the valve and filter access platform together with all electrical and controls. SDE also provided demolition packages for removal of old piping and supports in all areas.
