Biodiesel Handling Facility

Project Description

Our client wanted to install a facility to offload biodiesel, store it, then reclaim and blend it into traditional diesel in a blending range from B5 to B20. Sacré-Davey provided complete multi-disciplinary engineering for the detailed design of this project. All process, mechanical, structural aspects of the project were within our scope including development of P&ID’s. Audits of existing assets (rotational equipment, valves, tanks, loading arms) were required to confirm suitability for repurpose to biodiesel service. Extensive use of 3-D scanning permitted the design of bolt-in spools to minimize field welds and shorten construction time.
